Throughout the program, my duty and service included:

•  Conducting literature survey on the soil of farmland conditions in landslide- and

earthquake-affected areas, providing evidence-based recommendations for land recovery

•  Designing and empowering climate-smart agriculture (CSA) pilot activities in collaboration with women farmers of the KOKOWAGAYO Women's Coffee Cooperative, including online demonstration and discussion with KWCC.

•  Participating in joint agricultural workshops with students from Universitas Sumatera Utara and Universitas Gajah Putih, strengthening Korea-Indonesia academic and practical exchange in the field of sustainable agriculture

•  Contributing as a core author of the joint program proposal by Kijami Table & KIDC — approved by KUCSS and realized as a formal international volunteer project — by integrating field data and community voices into the climate-smart agriculture component

•  Supporting the crowdfunding campaign by providing field documentation, impact evidence, and technical content on sustainable agriculture practices for donor communications

Risk Considerations

  • Safety: The target region was affected by severe flooding and landslides in November 2025, resulting in 350 fatalities and significant damage to roads and bridges. Accessibility and site safety must be verified during the PM's pre-dispatch inspection trip.

  • Travel Advisory: Travel advisory levels for the relevant areas within Indonesia must be confirmed prior to finalization.

  • Multi-site Logistics: With activities spread across 3 schools, cooperative farmlands, and university venues, careful budget planning is required — particularly to keep accommodation, meals, and transport costs within the 70% cap on overseas activity expenses.

  • Local Coordination: Per WFK guidelines, personnel costs for local coordinators are not eligible for reimbursement and must be excluded from the budget.
