Follow the ring clockwise: food waste becomes compost and vegetables, cartons become toilet paper, scraps become bags, and a picture book becomes classes and a donation.

First, we saw it

We walked through the facility from the intake pit to the processing line, and learned how scraps become feed and compost.

Then, we made it

At home we saved fruit and vegetable scraps and turned them into compost.

Finally, we plant it

The compost went into a vegetable garden we planted and watered through spring.

Three small projects, each starting with something headed for the bin.

Milk cartons into toilet paper

Every member collected cartons, washed and dried them, and every two months we brought them to the local community center to trade for toilet paper.

Coffee grounds into
keyrings

Used coffee grounds became deodorizer sachets and clay keyrings, each painted as a small Earth.

Fabric scraps into mini bags

At the 2025 Seongnam Book Festival in Yuldong Park, hosted by the Seongnam Small Library Council, we ran a booth where children made bags and wrote messages about the planet on them.

A book that kept giving

Our bilingual picture book, Kenny Greene's Eco-Adventures, got a second volume this year, Rise of Evil, now on Amazon. We then used it in two ways.

We taught with it

Reading and recycling-craft classes at Kkum&Hyu Small Library and Sujain Forest Library.

We gave its earnings away

Sales of both volumes raised ₩500,000, which we donated to the Seongnam branch of the Korean Federation for Environmental Movements.
